Alterations and additions to a single storey semi-detached terrace with rear lane access

DESIGN

Small and poorly lit rooms without real connection to the outside are characterising the rear portion of the existing house. By removing major internal walls, a large open plan kitchen / dining and living area is created. The rear façade openings are replaced with full width and full height glass sliding doors, shaded by a louvred pergola and providing natural light deep into the house. With an outdoor bbq bench visually continuing the kitchen, a built-in sitting bench and a pond with water feature, the rear courtyard, becomes an extension of the kitchen / dining and living area and is transformed into a quality outdoor space.

2 new bathrooms with skylight, a walk-in-robe and a study complete this alteration.
